Types of Hay & Bedding Include:
Alfalfa – High protein – Legume
Great source of protein and energy for your working horses. Helps build and maintain muscle on your horse. Low levels of starch and sugar
Bermuda Grass – Low Protein – Grass Hay
A predominantly desert grown grass hay perfect to fill up your slow feeders and those who are not actively being worked. Moderate levels of starch and sugar.
Teff Grass – Moderate Protein – Grass Hay
Relatively new grass hay produced in both northern and southern regions that balances both working horses and horses that are worked less frequently. Recommended by vets to lessen the chance of colic. Low levels of starch and sugar.
Orchard Grass – Moderate Protein – Grass Hay
A northern grown premium grass hay that is known to be a safe choice to feed to a variety of horses. Balances good protein and starch and sugar.
Timothy Grass – Moderate Protein - Grass Hay
A premium grass hay that normally goes hand in hand with orchard and its feeding tendencies. It is known to be fed at high end stables and race tracks
